In greek mythology, titans were once the rulers of the world. Although strong and wise, they were overthrown by the Olympian gods.
Zeus, king of the Olympians, gave the Titan Prometheus the task of creating man. He loved his creation and made the mistake to trick Zeus into giving away meat to man. Zeus was enraged and took fire away from man as a punishment. Prometheus then lit a torch from the sun and brought fire back again. Finally, Zeus chained Prometheus to a rock were he would be punished and tormented by an eagle. Each day It would tear apart and eat his liver and overnight it would grow back, only to be eaten again the next day...
