šā”ļøLEGEND: āØIn Greek mythology, Ixion, a wicked king, was once tricked by Zeus into revealing his lust to Hera, the queen of the gods. Zeus shaped a cloud into the likeness of Hera which Ixion seduced. The relationship resulted in the creation of the centaurs, creatures with the upper body of a human and the lower body and legs of a horse.š“ āØThese beings were of a lustful and violent nature. It was believed they lived in the forests of Thessaly, in which today there is a tradition of hunting bulls on horseback. The word centaur may actually have originally meant ābull-killerā. šThis means the centaur may have had some basis in reality. It could have been that the horsemen of Thesally were so skilled that they seemed at one with their horse and so the myth of a single creature was born.š
